I Quit Wim Hof Breathing — Here's Why

I used to do Wim Hof breathing every morning. Cold showers. The whole thing.

It made me feel amazing for about twenty minutes. And it made zero difference to my baseline anxiety. Here's why.

Wim Hof breathing is a stimulating practice. Fast breath, mouth breathing, hyperventilation, cold exposure — it spikes adrenaline, floods you with a rush, and then you crash back to wherever you started.

It's not a bad practice. It's just the wrong tool for anxiety. If your baseline is already anxious, adding more stimulation on top doesn't lower it.

It trains your system to tolerate stress — which is useful — but it doesn't teach it to rest. What actually lowers baseline anxiety is the opposite. Slow, quiet, diaphragmatic breathing.

Through the nose. Into the belly, not the chest. A longer exhale than inhale — four in, eight out is a good place to start.

Do it for five minutes a day, every day, for a few weeks. Boring compared to an ice bath. Works better.

This is Level 1 of what we teach inside Ultra Unbreakable. Always comeback stronger!
